JJSS is actively working on effective implementation of NREGA & RTI in Bihar. JJSS has actively pursued the subject along with other like minded organisations and individuals. We stronlgy support the efforts of National Campaign for People’s Right to Information (NCPRI) for building an environment of transparency and accountability in the country.

On July 12, 2022, the first Jun Sunvai of its kind for deaths of RTIs activist was organised in Patna, Bihar. The Jan Sunvai was chaired by a jury consisting of eminent activist Aruna Roy (MKSS), Vinita Deshmukh (Journalist) and Amitabh Kumar Das (FormerIPS). The public hearing was organsed jointly by National Campaign of People’s Right to Information (NCPRI), SAFAR, Jan Jagran Shakti Sangathan, Right to Food Campaign, Bihar and National Alliance of people’s movements (NAPM).

On August 4, 2018 we helped organise a ‘Jan Samvaad on Right to Information and Lok Shikayat’ along with NAPM, NCPRI and others.  Over a hundred users of the Right to Information and Lok Shikayat law are expected to attend. Senior representatives of local and national Civil Society Organisations with significant experience in issues of transparency, accountability and governance will also be attending. The objective of this multi-stakeholder meeting is to share the practical experiences of the use from Bihar, facilitate cross learning with other States and strengthen advocacy for grievance redress at the National level based on the Bihar model.

A state convention of RTI activist was organised on 26th Septermber 2013 at IMA Hall Patna. It was attended by more than 300 RTI activists and citizens. This lead to many more programs and protest for effective implementation of RTI in the state.
